Art Deco Hand Painted Gents Wardrobe

This is a beautiful Art Deco Gents Wardrobe manufactured by CWS Ltd, the co-operative wholesale society that began in 1863.

I decided to paint in the interior in Annie Sloan’s Primer Red which is a pain to photograph!  I haven’t managed to be able to pick out the fabulous little tags on each shelf which range from hats to underwear to shirts.  There is also a shelf for brushes underneath the mirror in the inside of one of the doors.

For the exterior I chose one of my favourite colours, Autentico’s Belgian Stone as it is a lovely green/grey and really suits a little bit of dark wax in places.

Such a great piece and compliments a valet stand I have painted in the same colour.
