Oh how I love a piece of hob nail milk glass. It’s just so tactile and pretty.
First made in Venice during the 16th century in a variety of colours then a few centuries later was produced in a milky white glass which was particularly popular during the 1930’s and 40’s. Westmoreland and Fenton being two of the largest manufacturers of milk glass.
Milk glass seems to be having it’s own revival today in lovely opaque pastel colours.
I bought these beautiful jade coloured bowls from ebay. Money well spent.
