Floral Friday – Paper.

Each year I like to have a theme when it comes to Christmas gift wrapping.

The themes have ranged from snow sprayed pine cones, old photographs, tartan and feathers to glitter corsages, sparkly ribbon, feathered birds and candy canes.

It was whilst thinking about what to do this year (any ideas?!!!) that I thought about paper flowers. Simple yet oh so chic.

Wednesday Wish List – Church Pews.

A church pew has to be one of the most versatile pieces of furniture.

I used to have one in my dining room, but decided it was simply too big and has now been relegated to my work room.

I have fond memories of the number of times guests sat on what they thought was the end of the bench but was actually only the long cushion hanging off the end. So childish I know.

So I’m on the hunt for another one. This time with arms to prevent further bruised bottoms.

Floral Friday – Red & Green

The festive season is almost upon us so red and green seemed the natural choice for today’s Floral Friday.

Wednesday Wish List – Fairy Lights.

The magical glow is calling.

The Christmas fairy lights are itching to be unpacked and draped over anything that stands still.

All I really need is to wait a few more days until December then it’s officially Christmas month and I can go bonkers with the bulbs.

In the meantime a string or two may find themselves adorned over a mirror or beam somewhere in the house a la the images shown below.

Time to put a bit of twinkle in your life.

Floral Friday – Dried.

After posting a piece on my blog last week about branches and bringing the outside in, I lopped off some holly branches from my garden that were bursting with berries and filled a huge jug with them.

It was then as I was looking around my garden and noticed the dried hydrangea heads that I thought how beautiful dried flowers can be.

Take this fabulous 60ft Christmas flower garland at Cotehele, Cornwall http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/cotehele/?p=1356297446549.

A feast for the eyes.
