Latest Projects – Painted Furniture

Happy New Year!!!

Hope you’re all having a great start to 2015.

The blog will be taking a different form this year, focusing more on interiors and projects which will mean more sporadic posting rather than regular daily posts.

So to kick start the new year here’s a post on my latest projects.

I thought this drop leaf table had lots of charm and decided Annie Sloan’s Chateau Grey paint would compliment the beautiful mahogany top.

A useful piece for a room that is short on space.

This solid oak sideboard was a stunner.

Weighed an absolute tonne but was a truly lovely piece.

I chose one of my favourite colours, Belgian Stone for the exterior and Country Grey for the interior. I gave the interior a coat of dark wax to give it an aged appearance.

As a solid wood piece I think it could look cumbersome in a room but with a pained finish it has a French feel to it.

Another beautiful sideboard with carvings that really make the piece.

Painted in Linen for the exterior and Lavender for the interior.

Waxed and distressed finish.

The carvings really come to life when painted.

This next piece is a gem. A Victorian pine dresser with beautiful glass flower handles.

I chose After Rain chalk paint, a light grey with a hint of blue that would suit any kitchen.

I left the distressed top unpainted as it gives real texture to the dresser.

Currently for sale £795.00.

This mahogany cupboard is a gorgeous shape, almost square, perfect storage.

Again painted in Belgian Stone and Country Grey.

Seems to be a winning combo.

A sweet chest of drawers with decorative brass handles.

Painted using Annie Sloan’s Paris Grey paint, waxed and distressed finish.

A lovely oak cabinet that I decided would suit some heavily distressed paintwork so I opted for Linen on the exterior and Chateau Grey for the interior.

Worked out rather well.

A set of 6 dining chairs that had a makeover using Nearly Black paint, given a waxed and distressed finish.

I had the seat pads re-upholstered in a beautiful Westminster wool check, reminiscent of Ralph Lauren interiors.

Currently for sale £450.00 for the set.
