Cavallini produce some of the best quality wrapping papers around and are perfect for decoupage projects.
This particular paper reminds me of the new Ardmore Collection by Cole and Son which is simply spectacular.
I had a blanket box with panels that proved to be the perfect piece to showcase this gorgeous wrapping paper.
The box was painted using Autentico’s Nearly Black chalk paint and after applying the paper I then protected the whole piece with a matt varnish.
I was so pleased with the final result that I couldn’t bear to part with it.
It’s a keeper!
This week has been spent attempting to get more organised and I also managed to paint two vintage pieces.
The first is a vintage serpentine mahogany hall/console table that I decided to give it a luxe look by painting it with Autentico’s Nearly Black chalk paint.
And just look at those legs!
This paint has a gorgeous deep blue tint to the colour and when waxed looks almost liquid.
I cleaned up the beautiful brass handles, gave the table a lightly distressed finish and voila, a beautiful piece that really makes display pieces pop.
The second piece is a sweet blanket/toy box.
I chose Annie Sloan’s Paris Grey chalk paint for the base and applied Autentico’s Casa Blanca for the pretty bird/floral design.
Finished with a clear wax protective coat.
Thoroughly enjoyed this painting project and am looking forward to doing this again soon.
Both pieces are available to buy, just click on the Shop link at the top of the page or contact me via my blog for further details.
