Latest Painting Projects – Bedside Tables.

Finding a pair of matching bedside tables is a quest in itself.

So when I saw these beauties I just had to have them.

They have beautiful decorative legs and square tops which are perfect on which to place a lamp, book, water glass, photo frame, the list goes on. Plus they also have a drawer each for extra storage.

I chose Autentico Brut chalk paint, a lovely mid grey and finished them with a coat of clear wax and very light distressing.

Currently for sale – £320.00

Latest Painting Project – Grey Oval Dining Table.

This sweet drop leaf, oval dining table is painted using a beautiful subtle grey called After Rain.

It was then lightly distressed and finished with a matt varnish that is water resistant.

I particularly love the scalloped edging on the table sides so that your knees fit comfortably underneath.

Reeded, splayed legs with brass claw feet.

This compact size also lends itself as a console table either in a hallway or behind a sofa.

Currently for sale: £275.00

Latest Painting Project – Georgian Bureau.

This was an unloved large piece of brown furniture that needed some tlc.

As soon as I got my hands on it I gave all the hardware some elbow grease and immediately could see how fabulous this piece was going to look.

I began with a few coats of Earth Stone chalk paint on the exterior, a lovely brown/grey colour.

Then I applied a coat of clear wax.

On top of that I painted a mixture of diluted pale grey chalk paint which was then wiped off with a clean cloth to create a layered effect and the whole piece was protected again with clear wax and given a distressed finish.

The interior I painted using both Graphite and Nearly Black chalk paints.

This paintwork was protected with dark wax and lightly distressed.

A wonderful piece with oodles of storage that is both practical and beautiful.

Currently for sale – £425.00.

Latest Painting Project – Victorian Chest of Drawers.

These impressive Victorian drawers have such beautiful ornate oval brass handles so I chose one of my favourite colours, Elephant Grey to really showcase them.

I also can’t resist drawers that have the original mother of pearl escutcheons.

I also chose Nearly Black to paint the top which allows your trinkets and treasures to really pop.

Currently for sale: £375.00

Latest Painting Project – Vintage Sideboard & Victorian Hall Chair.

Sideboards come in all sorts of shapes and sizes but one thing they all offer is fabulous storage space.

This piece in particular has two central curved drawers and two cupboards with shelves.

Perfect for storing a multitude of items from linens, crockery and cutlery to towels and bedding.

I chose my ever faithful Belgian Stone chalk paint for the exterior and Nautique for the interior to add that pop of surprise colour.

Waxed and lightly distressed.

Currently for sale £295.00

This hall chair had my name on it.

Odd chairs are such useful pieces to have around the home; to display your favourite cushion, somewhere to throw your post in the morning, an extra seat around the dinner table if required.

I chose Pigeon Grey paint for this chair, such a beautiful colour that would work with most colour schemes.

Waxed and distressed finish.

Currently for sale £60.00

Latest Painting Project – Early Victorian Chest of Drawers.

A large chest of drawers is a worthwhile investment.

Not only do they provide a practical storage purpose but they can also be a statement piece for a room, particularly a bedroom.

I chose gorgeous Pigeon Grey paint for these early Victorian drawers as I wanted a colour that would enhance the beautiful mother of pearl inlay turned handles and escutcheons.

Also the shaped feet are worth noting on this chest, elegant yet substantial proportions.

Latest Painting Project.

I have a new colour crush – Autentico’s Elephant Grey.

Compliments brass handles beautifully, works with a number of colour palettes including pale pinks, lilacs, greys, neutrals amongst others.

This gorgeous bow chest of drawers has now sold but I have another smaller bow chest with ornate brass handles ready to paint and I think I’m going to choose the same colour as I have some fabulous nude/pink cushions coming into stock soon with gold embroidery that will look amazing with this colour.

Pics to follow.
