Latest Painting Project – Hall Table.

I painted this elegant hall table using a bespoke mix of chalk paints to create this lovely grey/blue colour which I then finished with both clear and black wax.

The black wax enhances the lovely details such as the reeded legs and curved front drawer.

A great paint colour that works with most colour schemes.

Latest Painting Project – Dining Table.

As I’m sure I’ve said before, extendable dining tables are such a good investment for those of us with space issues.

This is a lovely example plus it comes with added benefits; this table splits into two lovely hall or console tables.

I can envisage the tables placed either side of a fireplace with identical mirrors hung above each one.

Or for its intended use, it makes a fabulous kitchen/dining table.

Hand painted using Linen chalk paint, waxed and lightly distressed legs and the top has been protected with a clear matt varnish.

On original castors.

I can never let a Pembroke table go by.

They are just so handy!

They can be used as a console/hall table or as a dining table for four.

This particular one scores extra points as it has a faux drawer at one end and an opening drawer at the other.

I chose Nearly Black chalk paint for the top and Country Grey for the legs.

Opted for a heavily distressed and waxed finish.

Tables, you can never have too many in my opinion.

They come in all shapes and sizes and serve many purposes.

This particular table I spotted is a mahogany fold over table that was once of a day used as a cards or games table.

Today it makes a wonderful hall or console table that if required can also be used for a more functional purpose.

The top is folded in half and fixed to the base via a wide circular peg then if you want to open the top you simply lift it off, open it up and pop it back on.

I painted the base using Annie Sloan’s Country Grey, gave it a heavily distressed finish then a coat of clear wax.

The top was painted in Annie Sloan’s Graphite chalk paint, waxed and distressed finish.

This gorgeous 1940’s sofa didn’t hang around for long.

Beautiful as is but would also look lovely upholstered in a plush charcoal velvet.

Continuing along the green theme, I purchased a vintage footstool and wanted to use a Designers Guild luxurious velvet alongside a vintage braid I’d bought.

I asked the upholsterer to do a really deep button back which looks fantastic and the cabriole legs were polished up a treat.

I think it’s safe to say that Autentico’s Nearly Black chalk paint is up there as one of my favourite paint colours.

It is a lovely liquid looking black with a midnight blue hue rather than Annie Sloan’s Graphite which is a definite grey black, but just as lovely.

When I bought this vintage hall/console table I knew it had to painted Nearly Black to give it that modern twist.

This beautiful small dresser was a lucky find.

Perfect for a country kitchen which is why I chose a fabulous pale blue paint colour that has a subtle green hue to it.

This sweet trolley makes the perfect bedside table to store all your books.

Hand painted in Autentico’s Corfu White and given a distressed and waxed finish.

This lovely bedding box painted Nearly Black was complimented by the Cabbages and Roses linen floral cushion.

I painted this lovely cabinet in Annie Sloan’s Duck Egg chalk paint for the exterior and then chose a contrasting colour for the interior which is Annie Sloan’s Primer Red.

My daughters have their eye on this solid pine chest of drawers.

I’m not sure if it’s down to the pastel colours or the sparkly glass handles, either way it’s a perfect piece for a girl’s bedroom.
