I loved the idea of transforming this plain bookcase into a quirky statement piece.
This Osborne and Little Penguin Library wallpaper was the perfect choice combined with Sailors Blue chalk paint.
The paintwork has been given a lightly distressed finish and the whole piece has been protected with a clear matt water resistant varnish.

These impressive Victorian drawers have such beautiful ornate oval brass handles so I chose one of my favourite colours, Elephant Grey to really showcase them.
I also can’t resist drawers that have the original mother of pearl escutcheons.
I also chose Nearly Black to paint the top which allows your trinkets and treasures to really pop.

Vintage wardrobes are fabulous pieces as they are such good value, brilliantly made and often dismantle into various pieces so you can easily manoeuvre them upstairs.
This particular triple wardrobe is all of the above.
Has original bevelled edge oval mirror, oodles of storage which include deep drawers with flush brass handles, tie rack, hanging rail plus extra hooks and dismantles into four pieces.
I chose Elephant Grey for the exterior and Nautique for the interior.
Waxed and lightly distressed finish.

Trolleys are such a versatile piece of furniture.
They can be used in so many rooms in so many ways.
I bought a brass one for my bathroom to match the inherited gold taps and I use it to display my perfume bottles and all the usual paraphernalia a woman needs. Invaluable.
I decided to paint this particular oak trolley with it’s lovely barley twist details and scalloped shelves in a lovely colour called Concrete as I knew when I gave it a distressed finish the lovely wood work would show through and compliment the taupe shade.
Here I have styled it with kitchen accessories but it would look just as lovely with bathroom towels, drinks bottles, coffee cups or books.
At the end of the photos I have also included some other images of trolleys to give you some inspiration on how to style these fabulous pieces of furniture.
This particular piece is currently for sale £125.00

On my next buying trip I shall be on the look out for more vintage trays.
You can never have too many trays in my opinion.
Perfect for keeping your jewellery and perfume all in one place whilst adding a certain elegance to a room.
Also tempted to have a go at tray wall art.
Although I have a definite penchant for vintage silver trays and florentine trays (that is a whole other post in itself) the magpie in me cannot resist a mirrored tray and I am also coveting the snakeskin one shown below.

Vintage crates are a fabulous and eco-friendly way to jazz up your home.
Who knew there were so many ways in which to use them?
I have a pair of wine crates that was very kindly given to me by a local wine merchants that I fill each year with pretty summer flowers but I am also inspired to use a wooden crate as a bedside table/bookcase as shown in one of the images below.
