Latest Painting Project – Occasional Table.

Tables with drawers are such a good investment when it comes to furniture.

Anything that has a dual purpose is a hit for me.

This lovely piece serves as a table, drawers plus has an additional storage shelf for whatever you wish to place on top.

I chose Autentico’s Earth Stone chalk paint for the exterior and complimentary French Grey for the inside of the drawers, finished with clear wax and subtle hints of gold gilding wax.

I also changed the handles to a beautiful cornflower blue glass pair from Anthropology which really make the piece.

Lightly distressed finish to enhance the carving details.

Currently for sale – £145.00.

Latest Project – Large Oak Coffee Table.

This fabulous oak coffee table has been stripped back to reveal the beautiful wood grain and I then protected the top with clear wax.

A great size on which to display your favourite coffee table books.

Perfect for a country home.

Latest Painting Projects.

I chose Nearly Black and Belgian Stone for this elegant sideboard.

Belgian Stone, as I’ve mentioned before, is one of my favourite colours, a lovely grey/green that compliments any gold or brass hardware.

Perfect for this piece.

What I also love about this sideboard is that the centre drawer has a cutlery compartment.

Currently for sale £325.00

One of the things I look for most when buying a table is the legs.

This table has beautifully shaped legs that pull out to form a fabulous dining table to seat 8 people.

I painted the top using Nearly Black chalk paint then protected it with a couple of coats of clear matt varnish.

For the legs I chose Duck Egg which when distressed compliments the mahogany wood underneath.

Currently for sale £295.00

This Week’s Painted Projects

The beginning of the week was very interesting.

I tried out something that I really didn’t think would work out that well and that was to paint fabric.

How wrong I was.

I’ve had these cream chairs for a while and they didn’t bode well with young children, subsequently they’ve been splattered with paint, various liquid refreshments, wet hair, cat paw prints and goodness know what else.

So I decided to paint the fabric as it couldn’t be any worse.

A couple of coats later and even a coat of wax later and they were transformed.

The texture isn’t dissimilar to leather, maybe not as shiny but a darn sight better than what they were.

Here is the evidence.

Next project was a lovely Edwardian dressing table that I decided to paint in a colour I hadn’t tried before and that was Autentico’s After Rain. A beautiful soft grey/ green colour that would compliment a wide range of colour schemes.

I particularly love the brass handles, which came up a treat with a bit  lot of elbow grease.

Finished with a clear wax and distressed finish.

So pretty.

Then I started on this lovely rustic farmhouse pine table.

I chose Annie Sloan’s Graphite for the top and Autentico’s Linen for the base.

I love how the dark grey paint makes everything pop.

Food on white plates would look so inviting on this table.

If I could find a space for it I think it would have been a keeper.

Finally I’m currently waiting for the paint to dry on two lovely single bed headboards but I think I shall have to post these next time.

Have a wonderful weekend
