Latest Painting Project – Occasional Table.

Tables with drawers are such a good investment when it comes to furniture.

Anything that has a dual purpose is a hit for me.

This lovely piece serves as a table, drawers plus has an additional storage shelf for whatever you wish to place on top.

I chose Autentico’s Earth Stone chalk paint for the exterior and complimentary French Grey for the inside of the drawers, finished with clear wax and subtle hints of gold gilding wax.

I also changed the handles to a beautiful cornflower blue glass pair from Anthropology which really make the piece.

Lightly distressed finish to enhance the carving details.

Currently for sale – £145.00.

Latest Painting Project – Oval Dining Table Gustavian Style.

I’ve mentioned before my love for a drop leaf table as they are such versatile pieces.

Not only do they make great space saving dining tables but they also look fabulous placed behind sofas and in hallways as console tables.

This particular table is a favourite of mine as it is oval in shape and has beautiful deep leaves that hide the legs when they are folded away.

As the table is oak I chose a Gustavian style paint effect as the grain of the wood absorbs the pale grey wash beautifully against the Belgian Stone chalk paint base.

I then finished the whole piece with white wax.

Seats up to 8 people.

Latest Painting Project – Edwardian Dressing Table.

After buying this beautiful Edwardian dressing table I hung onto it for a while hoping to make it work in my house but after much deliberation I had to accept the fact it was too big for any of our bedrooms. Sob.

So I got to work and painted some of the woodwork using Autentico’s Earth Stone chalk paint and re-waxed the gorgeous inlaid wood sections.

The mirror is just how I like it, beautifully foxed.

A stunning piece I hope you’ll agree.

Latest Painting Projects – Bedside Tables.

Finding a pair of matching bedside tables is a quest in itself.

So when I saw these beauties I just had to have them.

They have beautiful decorative legs and square tops which are perfect on which to place a lamp, book, water glass, photo frame, the list goes on. Plus they also have a drawer each for extra storage.

I chose Autentico Brut chalk paint, a lovely mid grey and finished them with a coat of clear wax and very light distressing.

Latest Painting Project – Black Dressing Table.

There is something about having a black painted dressing table that really appeals to me, I think it’s the glamour element.

Black is the perfect backdrop to display glass bottles, silver frames, vases of flowers and an array of trinkets.

This sweet dressing table also has the added benefit of gorgeous brass handles that after a bit of elbow grease now shine beautifully against the black paint.

Hand painted using Nearly Black chalk paint then covered with a black wax.

Latest Painting Project – When Wood Is Good.

When I find a vintage piece of furniture that is in great condition I simply leave the wood to shine.

This fabulous Victorian chest of drawers needed some attention to the body but the drawer fronts were in beautiful condition.

I mixed deep blue and black chalk paints to create a lovely inky blue which contrasts beautifully with the flame mahogany drawer fronts and brass drop handles.

Turned feet on original castors.
