Introducing The Colour Bright Green Into Your Home.

Terrified of using colour in your home?

A great way of introducing a bright colour into your home is through a piece of painted furniture.

The brighter the colour, the stronger the impact.

Painted furniture is the perfect way to enliven and modernise a space.

Bringing colour into your home creates interest and adds personality.

So this week I thought I’d jump in feet first with the colour bright green.

Here are some inspirational pics for you.

Latest Painting Project – Vintage Sideboard & Victorian Hall Chair.

Sideboards come in all sorts of shapes and sizes but one thing they all offer is fabulous storage space.

This piece in particular has two central curved drawers and two cupboards with shelves.

Perfect for storing a multitude of items from linens, crockery and cutlery to towels and bedding.

I chose my ever faithful Belgian Stone chalk paint for the exterior and Nautique for the interior to add that pop of surprise colour.

Waxed and lightly distressed.

Currently for sale £295.00

This hall chair had my name on it.

Odd chairs are such useful pieces to have around the home; to display your favourite cushion, somewhere to throw your post in the morning, an extra seat around the dinner table if required.

I chose Pigeon Grey paint for this chair, such a beautiful colour that would work with most colour schemes.

Waxed and distressed finish.

Currently for sale £60.00

Modern Twist.

Bold and beautiful.

Latest Painting Project.

I have a new colour crush – Autentico’s Elephant Grey.

Compliments brass handles beautifully, works with a number of colour palettes including pale pinks, lilacs, greys, neutrals amongst others.

This gorgeous bow chest of drawers has now sold but I have another smaller bow chest with ornate brass handles ready to paint and I think I’m going to choose the same colour as I have some fabulous nude/pink cushions coming into stock soon with gold embroidery that will look amazing with this colour.

Pics to follow.

Latest Painting Project – Linen Cupboard.

If I had the space this piece would be a keeper.

A vintage bow front cupboard over drawers makes the perfect linen cupboard.

The two shelves in the cupboard slide out easily so you can use the hanging rail to store shirts should you wish.

I call this my Ladurée cupboard as I chose a gorgeous mint green paint called Dried Moss which just perfect with the ornate brass handles.

The interior was painted using Country Grey.

The whole piece has been given a coat of clear wax then given an aged look with dark wax and light distressing.

Currently for sale £375.00

Latest Painting Projects.

If a chest of drawers has beautiful oval handles I just have to have them.

These are a case in point.

Hand painted using After Rain chalk paint, waxed and lightly distressed.

After a bit of elbow grease the brass handles came up a treat and they compliment the soft grey paint beautifully.

Now sold.

Another gorgeous set of drawers are these beauties.

They are very deep with lovely flush brass handles that again compliment the Duck Egg paint.

Particularly love the curved sides on this piece.

Waxed and moderately distressed.

Latest Painting Projects.

I chose Nearly Black and Belgian Stone for this elegant sideboard.

Belgian Stone, as I’ve mentioned before, is one of my favourite colours, a lovely grey/green that compliments any gold or brass hardware.

Perfect for this piece.

What I also love about this sideboard is that the centre drawer has a cutlery compartment.

One of the things I look for most when buying a table is the legs.

This table has beautifully shaped legs that pull out to form a fabulous dining table to seat 8 people.

I painted the top using Nearly Black chalk paint then protected it with a couple of coats of clear matt varnish.

For the legs I chose Duck Egg which when distressed compliments the mahogany wood underneath.
